Elbow

elbowThe elbow is comprised of tendons, bones and three joints that make it possible to move your arm. It is where the two bones of the forearm – radius & ulna – meet the bone of the upper arm—the humerus. This bone union is covered in a layer of thick, shiny articular cartilage that absorbs shock and allows the bones to glide smoothly against one another. Injuries to the elbow can result from overuse or sudden trauma.

Common Elbow injuries include:

• Tennis Elbow (aka lateral epicondylitis)
• Golfers Elbow (aka medial Epicondylitis)
• Tendinopathy
• Fractures
• Nerve entrapment
• Referred pain
Accurate diagnosis is crucial to the correct management of any elbow pain.
