Back Pain
Studies have shown between 60-80% of the general population experience back pain at some point in their lives. Accurate assessment is essential to ensure the treatment fits the diagnosis. Very often disc disease is the cause of low back pain. This is a degenerative condition and can progress without the proper advice and exercise.
Neck Pain
Neck pain is a common problem, with two-thirds of the population experiencing neck pain at some point in their lives.
Most neck pain can be treated quickly and easily once assessed. Common causes include whiplash, postural problems, muscle tightness, joint stiffness disc disease and deep neck muscle weakness. In some cases pinching of the nerves emanating from the cervical vertebrae may occur resulting in arm pain. This is usually best treated with a multidisciplinary approach to ensure best outcomes and may require medication, imaging such as MRI and specialist referral as well as physiotherapy
